Mu Kindle arrived Wednesday just as scheduled.  I spent the evening learning the controls and adding a couple of books from my PC.  It loaded them easily and without and problem.  Yesterday I added about 25 more free books that I got from Tor.com.  They're having a special promotion until Sunday offering the ebooks free without DRM.  Excellent.  Yesterday afternoon I took my break outside in the sunlight and reading was incredible.  It's just like reading a book, except the background is more gray than a paper book.  Somehow that seems easier on the eyes. I'm really stoked; this is great.

Go see it. Seriously.

yes, it's long (2 hours 45 minutes), but it's fantastic. Only marginally predictable, but the story is good, the characters are fleshed out well, and the effects are top-notch (but not over the top).

Definitely go see this on the big screen.

yes, damn it, I AM still awake less than six hours before I have to get up.

Today the manager for whom I worked when he had my job came through the kitchen. He brought me a fat plastic baggie of his home-alderwood-smoked sea salt. Yum. Sweet and salty and crunchy and smoky.

(homo)sexual propaganda

Last propaganda I launched was "Deforest your crack today", so this shall be "Try versatility, you might just like it".

I was just casually browsing Dlist and came across this:

If YOU are the top and I am the bottom, then do your fucking job and take some control. If you have a weak agenda, you shouldn't be topping in the first place.

That is all kinds of sad. I can't STAND fags that see topping and bottoming as social roles. I don't even understand the attempt to bring what plagues straight relationships the most into gay relationships. So according to this homo, if you're not going to boss around you have no right to fuck?

I generally don't like seeing people labeling themselves tops or bottoms. From my personal experience "tops" are all about the social role and get off on cock more than anyone - it's more likely you'll find a bottom that will play with your ass than a "top". On the other hand I've found so many "bottoms" who just don't have the confidence to fuck someone, and once you get them going there's no stopping them. At the same time, you'll see a real bottom lose interest in someone in a second if they find out they're bottom as well. They want cock in their ass and that's that, if you can't give it, you're of no use. But you won't see a top turn down another top.

It's all a bit complicated I guess. I recommend: Versatility! Though always, and I mean ALWAYS the boys I'm attracted to turn out to be total bottoms, even if they don't look it. Which I don't mind to be honest but it's good to have the option.

By the way did anyone deforest their crack? God get to work boys already.

I do love my friends

Jul. 23rd, 2008 | 04:57 pm

So I went out last night with $30. Here's my Tally for last night.
$15 in gas
$11 for a long island
$2 for a bud light lime
$2 in tips
on top of that I had digiorno pizza, 3 MGDs at the apartment, 2 $4 MGDs at the bar, another $2 Bud light lime, and then another 2 Budweisers after the bar and got to watch Shutter and The Cleaner.
Total, it was about a $50 or $60 night.. and I still came home with $10 (drove my friends to work this morning so they gave me gas money).
I love my friends. But I do need at least a part time job soon so I can start taking them out. Oh, and they invited me out to watch Batman on friday.. I also got invited out to the bar for that night by another guy who thinks I'm cute :p

In at 6, breakfast and lunch, uneventful. Out at 2 to go back at 4:30 and work till 7 helping the dinner chef with a catered "mideval / medival" (sic) dinner for two hundred.

I think it interesting that we will be serving turkey legs and jojos (fried potato wedges), when neither potatoes nor turkey were known to the medieval / mediaeval European kitchen. I bet damn few of the campers would enjoy a meal in the true style of the middle ages.
